Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Raphael Landau collects when you use Bulldog, how we use it, and your choices. The short version: we collect only what the game needs, we don't sell your data, and we don't show ads.

1. What we collect

Account details: your email address and password. Passwords are stored securely hashed by our login provider, and we never see them.
Profile: your username and optional team name.
Game activity: your portfolios, orders, holdings, leagues you create or join, chat messages and reactions.
Technical data: like most websites, our hosting providers automatically log basic information such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, to keep the service running and secure.
Cookies and local storage: a cookie that keeps you logged in, and small settings saved in your browser (like whether the opening-bell sound is on and which notifications you've seen). We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

2. How we use it

To run the game: your account, portfolios, trades, leagues, leaderboards, chat and badges.
To keep Bulldog secure and fair, for example to prevent abuse, cheating and spam.
To contact you about your account, such as sign-up confirmation or important changes to these policies.
To fix problems and improve the game.

3. What other players can see

Any logged-in player can see your username and team name.
Members of your leagues can see your league portfolio (its value, return, holdings and trades), your chat messages and your reactions in that league.
Your personal portfolio is private to you.
Results images you choose to share are shared by you, wherever you post them.

4. Who we share it with

We don't sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help run Bulldog:

Supabase: database, login and account storage.
Vercel: website hosting.

Our market data providers (currently Alpaca, supplying IEX exchange data) and our company-logo image source never receive your personal information. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users or the service.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile, portfolios, trades, chat messages and reactions are permanently deleted. Copies may remain in routine backups and server logs for a limited time before they're overwritten.

6. Your choices and rights

Edit your username and team name, or delete your account, any time on your Profile page.
Access or correction: email us to request a copy of your information or to fix something you can't edit yourself.
Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU/UK), you may have more rights, such as objecting to certain processing. Email us and we'll respond as the law requires.

7. Children

Bulldog is for people aged 13 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email us and we'll delete it.

8. Security

We use industry-standard protections, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and database rules that stop players from seeing or changing each other's private data. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

9. Where data is stored

Your information is stored and processed in the United States by our service providers.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. If changes are significant, we'll let you know in the app or by email. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
